That's one of the reasons why Gena's Raw Tortilla Soup and Kristen Suzanne's Harvest Soup are my two favorites - they are both oil-based (EVOO and flax oil). I always prefer the texture of non-avocado-based raw soups. And yeah...I'm definitely giving myself a break the next time I concoct anything gross! :)Bethanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06304990231772450025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170871350906521761.post-36631966135045080462012-08-07T12:18:04.687-04:002012-08-07T12:18:04.687-04:00I'm scared of raw soups. My attempts at making them have typically resulted in an oddly frothy concoction that isn't really a soup so much as a smoothie... but I'm open to trying again!

And man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's forced myself to eat something unpleasant rather than throw it away! I think we can give ourselves a break for the particularly nasty stuff, though. ;)Kellyhttp://vegga.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170871350906521761.post-56299178539563907332012-08-05T12:37:02.653-04:002012-08-05T12:37:02.653-04:00I, too, have made a yucky raw smoky avocado soup -...I, too, have made a yucky raw smoky avocado soup - I wonder if it was the same recipe! I love the tortilla soup, but I also add a medium zucchini to the recipe to give the soup a little more body. I love to scoop up the soup with (non-raw) blue corn chips..yum yum yum!Bethanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06304990231772450025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170871350906521761.post-15686351462558983542012-08-05T12:02:07.390-04:002012-08-05T12:02:07.390-04:00I make myself eat something that I absolutely hate...I make myself eat something that I absolutely hate in order to not waste food probably once a month. Why do we keep torturing ourselves? And same, about the raw soups. I love a delicious gazpacho, but once I made a raw smoky avocado soup and it was definitely one of those force it down moments. I'll have to give that tortilla soup recipe a try!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170871350906521761.post-48566531309388433452012-08-05T05:07:43.156-04:002012-08-05T05:07:43.156-04:00Definitely give Gena's Raw Tortilla Soup and K...Definitely give Gena's Raw Tortilla Soup and Kristen Suzanne's Harvest Soup a chance...I've been making both of these soups regularly for a couple of years now. They are really, really good! :)Bethanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06304990231772450025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170871350906521761.post-87846258214714684862012-08-05T04:47:43.633-04:002012-08-05T04:47:43.633-04:00Yeah, there really is no in between when it comes ...Yeah, there really is no in between when it comes to raw soups. After having far too many really awful ones, I'm very reluctant to give them another shot. Gena's recipes, however, have a fighting chance!Hannahhttp://www.bittersweetblog.comnoreply@blogger.com
